Claude connectors for real-world data
Claude connectors let Claude use outside data through MCP. To add real-world data, add one custom connector with this URL: https://www.realworldmcp.com/api/mcp. It takes about a minute, needs no key or sign-in, and gives Claude 22 live tools for satellites and meteors plus a catalog of 30 providers.
What Claude connectors are
Connectors let Claude reach outside apps and data. Each connector is a remote MCP server. There are two kinds. Directory connectors are listed in Claude's Connectors Directory. Custom connectors are any remote MCP server you add by URL (Anthropic help center ).
Real World MCP is a custom connector. It is not in Anthropic's directory, and Anthropic has not reviewed it. It needs no sign-in, and its live tools only read public data.
Add it in Claude (web and desktop)
- Click Add Real World MCP to Claude . Claude opens Add custom connector with the name and URL filled in. If you are signed out, sign in first.
- Or add it by hand: go to Customize → Connectors, click + Add, then Add custom connector. Name it Real World MCP and paste the URL below. Click Continue.
- Under Authentication, pick No sign in. Click Add.
- In a chat, click +, open Connectors, and turn Real World MCP on.
https://www.realworldmcp.com/api/mcp
Free plans can add one custom connector. On Team and Enterprise plans an Owner adds it first under Organization settings → Connectors → Add → Custom → Web (or with the admin install link ); members then click Connect under Customize → Connectors. Claude reaches the server from Anthropic's cloud, so it must be public. Ours is.
Steps from the Anthropic help center and Anthropic's install link docs .

Check that it worked
Ask: “Which Real World MCP tools do you have?” Claude should list search_tools, get_tool and call_tool plus 9 featured live tools, such as satnogs.observations and global_meteor_network.meteors_near. If nothing shows up, check that the URL ends in /api/mcp and that the connector is on for this chat.
Your first prompt
Paste one of these. Each uses only free live tools.
01What is the ISS transmitting?
Look up the ISS (NORAD 25544) in SatNOGS. Which of its radio transmitters are still alive? List each one's downlink frequency in MHz and its mode.
02Meteor showers right now
Which meteor showers did the Global Meteor Network record in its latest daily summary? Rank the top 5, tell me how many were sporadic, and describe the brightest meteor.
